Fall quarter has begun, and we’re back in the swing of things. Here are a few iSchool updates from the past week:
iSchoolers in the News
We featured a new addition to the faculty, Assistant Professor Nic Weber. Nic, who was previously a research associate at the iSchool, has a great deal of expertise in data curation. He will focus on the future of libraries in his new role.
We also posted a story about MLIS student Sarah Carnes. Sarah spent her summer at the National Library of Medicine, creating a visual reference and research guide of public resources available for libraries doing disaster planning.
The iSchool’s Technology & Social Change Group and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions announced they have launched the Development and Access to Information project. The project will highlight the role of libraries and access to information in achieving the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.
