This week at the iSchool

iSchoolers in the News

Big news this week for one of our alumni. Jill Bourne (MLIS, ’97) is Library Journal’s 2017 Librarian of the Year. As director of California’s San Jose Public Library, Bourne overcame serious challenges with money and morale to put the system’s 23 branches on the right track.

Lecturer Annie Searle, aka “The Risk Detective,” is featured in PR for People’s The Connector magazine. In addition to an article and Q&A inside the magazine, Searle is on the cover.

The Technology and Social Change Group’s mobile information literacy curriculum was the subject of a write-up from ICT Works. The curriculum, announced last year, is aimed at helping people better consume, generate, and disseminate trustworthy information through both digital and traditional media.
