iSchoolers in the News
iAffiliates Day, one of the major events on the iSchool calendar, was on Thursday, featuring talks from executives at some of the school’s partner organizations. The iSchool’s Jevin West, Maria Garrido, Susan Hildreth, MSIM student Daniel Kapellmann and other students were also part of the speaking lineup. Read about the event and check out photos on our Facebook page.
Susan Hildreth was also featured on the newest Circulating Ideas podcast. She chatted about her work in librarianship and her current role as the iSchool’s first professor of practice.
Ph.D. student Sonali Mishra was among the researchers on a project that looked into whether food photos on Instagram shape whether people eat healthy foods. UW Today wrote about the paper produced by the research.
Our terrific dean, Harry Bruce, is stepping aside at the end of this academic year. Be sure to check out the photos, story and guestbook on our tribute site.
Jason Yip’s KidsTeam UW gets kids involved in design by making them partners in the process. Check out our new video about the project, which seems like way too much fun to be work:
The second “Calling Bullshit” lecture is also now on our YouTube channel:
