iSchoolers in the News
We profiled Erin McAweeney, an MSIM student who’s gotten involved in two research projects: a study of icons in the MAD Lab and a TASCHA big-data project. McAweeney said the common thread in her work is that it aims to have technology meet the needs of people, rather than the other way around.
Ph.D. candidate Ivette Bayo Urban appeared on KIRO Radio to discuss the repeal of Net Neutrality provisions. Bayo Urban also recently led a Critical Pedagogy Summit at the UW that produced a statement in support of Net Neutrality and authored a piece for My Edmonds News about its importance to her.
John Cole, an alumnus of the UW School of Librarianship, which became the iSchool, is featured in the latest issue of Library of Congress magazine. Cole, who has had a long, distinguished career, is now the library’s historian.
