Just a quick update from the first week of classes:
iSchoolers in the News
iSchool Dean Anind Dey is one of two UW representatives on Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan’s Innovation Advisory Council. The group, mostly composed of leaders from technology companies, aims to bring technology to bear to solve pressing issues, such as homelessness and traffic woes.
Assistant Professor Jevin West was part of the lineup at a MOHAI Community Conversation on fake news on Sept. 27 at the Museum of History and Industry in Seattle. The panel, moderated by journalist Enrique Cerna, explored the problem of misinformation, which is not a new phenomenon.
